This hollywood actor who had played the role of Moses in the epic Ten Commandments and prince Ben Hur in the Oscar winning Judah Ben Hur died on Saturday, April 5, 2008 at his home in Beverly Hills, California with Lydia, his wife of 64 years, by his side. He was 84. The cause of death is currently unknown.
A sense of dejavu came over me over his decease. Even though I had heard of him for a long period of time and also heard of The Ten Commandments, and also the classical epic Judah Ben Hur, I had not seen both for the longest time until last Friday evening. Thus recognising the Choros timing with the event of his passing reminded me of a scene in The Ten Commandments where an old slave who was speared to death by an Egyptian guard said to the Prince of Egypt, Moses with his last breath,
"My prayers had not been answer that I may see I may see the deliever of Israel which God will send before my eyes are shut"
Moses had discovered his birth identity as a Hebrew, and has been made a salve then. Angry at God who had forsaken His people.
Such is the perfect timing, Choros timing. There is a time for everything.. Appointed..
From the Old Covenant of God sealed in His laws with his people in The Ten Commandments, the law brought Death when Moses ( Charlton) Proclaims,
"Those who refuses to LIVE by the law, Shall Die by the law!"
To Judah Ben Hur, who raised 2 legions of fighting men for the Messiah. Praise be to the one most High, "that it is not by the sword that God shall set his peoples free, but by the staff of a Sheppard" (Moses)
Indeed the Messiah did the unthinkable, handling himself over to his enemies, " Laying his life down for his sheeps" For such is His measure of Friendship that, " A Friend will Lay down his Life"
The most foolish plan of Heaven, is wiser still than the most cleverly devised plans from human beings. Indeed a New and Living way has been given to us. A life where our tears are wiped away.
"As for me and my household, we shall Serve the Lord."
