Environment

Troubles never seems to cease in the yard. moving around the human environment doesn't seems easy at all. Worn out, tried out.

Recent "precautionary" measures by management removed many people's internet access so as to prevent unauthorise surfing of net during lunch hours and downloading of unauthorised material.

Some staffs were caught talking during over time hours. Thus now, everyday we have to justify why we allow draftmen to work over time.

Such is the environment in my workplace...

Bike SOLD! Insightful Meetings~

Going once, twice.. trice.. sold!
Last weekend was a weekend for JC friends,

It all began with work as usual on Sat,looking at the plans for the weekend..
Seems quite full, except that there is no appointment and no plans to have my bike sold..

Flipping through my note book, 7 numbers, 2 had viewed, 5 showed interest. It has been almost a week and there had been some progress and some seems quite keen but still wants to "fish" around the market. hmm.. I guess I will drop them a msg to ask if they are still keen about the bike. Only 2 replied. One is to asked about the cost of transfer and if can lower the price further. The other apologise for not being able to view the bike on sat.

hmm... I guess I will have to continue to hold on the bike for a little while longer..
*patience patience patience..

So it was a sailor's outing on a Sat nite after the collection of the Super 4 which Mah Motor took back for repairs. After changing/ repairing/ washing/ tuning /God knows what the shop did to the bike. It perform pretty good!

And so it was.. a nite at Settler's cafe. lol.. celebrating 3 guys birthday. I didn't want to stay too late, I feel sooo tired after the long week passed. So sat came and went...

Sunday,

A lazy sunday morning came, with so many ding dongs to tidy up, I simply do not know where to begin. So I decided that I should spend my day at the library reading, I need new re-freshing ideas and thoughts. After reaching the National Library, Barely got to settle down and read, I got a phone call from Tony, one of those who is interested in the x-9. So I made a trip home to meet him.

Tony looked at the bike, after a brief discussion, he was ok with it. So it was SOLD! :)

spend the rest of my sunday reading, and in the evening, met with JC library classmates. woh, Brenda is certainly doing well, with a new position in Dubai. And so is Catherine. We discussed many topics from banking, commodities, career enhancements, spirituality, and buddism. It was indeed a very interesting and fulfilling nite for conversation..

Hmm... I see light at the end of the tunnels... *smiles*

Week for bike and more bike

As it turns out, the buying and selling of the x-9 and the new super four, both turns out to be little more complicated than expected.

Over last weekend, there were several interested parties calling up to check out the bike. Had a couple of viewings on last sunday and the following Tuesday. Now keeping my fingers crossed that the deal can come through.

The new super 4 is great! except that when I was supposed to have collected it on monday, turned out that the previous owner had modified the exhaust pipe and the bike sounded like a coughing ah pek. So after making hell out of a noise and refusing to collect the bike. The shop agreed to change the exhaust pipe for me.

And so on Wednesday was collection day again. Switching on the engine, the sound of the bike seems better but still was far of the performance one would expect of a bike so reputated to be the best in its class. I was super reluctant to accept it. I stared at the bike and test it again and again. The sales person was helpless, trying to assure me that they will fix up the bike good should I not be happy with the performance. Their lady boss, also came and give her personal assurance. Taking the bike back for a 2 days test.

The engine did indeed have strange behaviour and it is super weak at low RPMS. So Friday sent it in again, and after fixing up the cabarator( the device for mixing air and fuel) It seems to be performing much much better.

Friends and happiness~

Weekender

Happiness

Weekend feels so good when finally just dump everything at work and come home. Best thing is to be with ppl. Sad to say the work life in Sg is keeping ppl apart, families hardly meet, extended families may meet once a year during Chinese new year. Social phenomenon that results from our "success"?

Another result of our "success" Singapore rank last in happiness index in Asia. hahaha.. Such irony. Are we paying too high a price for prosperity? Don't we have a choice to choose. Something we should all be proud about perhaps lol.. if the govt have a chance to say it.. it would.

Anyhow, I refuse to subscribe to this thinking. I refuse to believe that work is the salvation to my life. I believe a decent living can be achieve in more humane way, that happiness and relationships need not be sacrifices for the sake of progress. Cos I had traded b4, honestly, I felt cheated.

Bike sales

First viewing today from a young engineer also. He is a nice chap. He turn up with his girlfriend to view my bike. The viewing went well, he seems ok with the bike. I hope he expresses his concerns. And that we both can conclude in a win win situation.

Marina, friends~
Following the bike viewing, I went to city hall to meet Diana, we had lunch and after that walked ard a little bit. It was a nice and enjoyable day out! :D

Siying came back and in the mist of her busy preparation for her wedding, and studying for her final exams, she still make time to catch up with her old friend!~ So touched* She looks better now that she has slimed down. Looks like pressure is good for her :P lol.. Siying, If you read this, not that I want to say.. But you should work harder la :P Good luck for your exams and tell your hubby he must be the luckiest man on earth to marry you. *winks*

Ling messaged to say she's leaving for Auzzie soon to take up a full job as a nurse there. I hope she settles down well there~ Another friend who had found freedom~

Duwei's birthday is here~ lol. After I wish him happy birthday, we sort of get into a discussion about me trying to impose my views on him. hmm.. I have no idea where he got that idea from. So I said, fine I accept that our views are different and I can live with that. :)

Okie time and tide waits for no man. getting late now. Sleepzz.. tmr is the beginning of another week.. *ponders*... the song "when can i see you again.... " Looking forward to next weekend~

Week of Miracles? of ups and downs..

Argh... late report,

Our ICQ report is due right tomorrow, ICQ is improvment projects to improve the work process and flow in the company. Yet right now, I am feeling all sickly and rotten. Argh.. irritating,

Traffic Police Riding Test
The week had been quite a week, I had my traffic police accessment test on Tuesday, For that I had spent the weekend before this week, all the way till monday to practice my riding. 37 was my tag number on the test date, quite a nice number I must say. But unfortunately at the crucial moment, as I was going through the obstable course, S-course, I felt a bump on my rear tyre. "liao, this time all wasted liao" I thought, ... hit the kerb....

But incidently, almost by miracle, when the tester was reading out the number tags of those who had failed..

"33,...."
My heart frozed...
"38, 39, 40... "
GOD! I cann't believe my luck!!
"DId I missed him saying 37??????" I thought....

Then I walk up to find my test result... WTF... look look look... Cann't seems to find it with all the stack of other ppl's result.

"Is this a joke, He must have read my number wrongly" many thoughts ran across my mind..

Then, I found a single result slip left on the table behind me.... 37!!!! Yippy I had passed!

Bye bye X-9, hello Super 4

No time for celebration, I set out to clean and wash my bike, Selling it immediately!, Putting a post on Singapore bike forum, going to bike shop to see how much they are offering me.. but a pathetic $1800 was all that was left.. Depreciation is horrendous!! Selling the bike on my own seems the final option left.

While all these happens, I began shopping for a new bike, finally deciding on a yellow V-tec 2 super 4 from Mah motor. All adds up to quite a hefty price, $8800. Quite a good number I should say, you guys may like to buy 4-D...?! :D

All concluded, I should be riding this for the next couple of years. *pray for a good engine*

meanwhile at workplace,

Many more instances of issue and problems keeps propping up, but non as terrible as the termination of the use of internet for all staffs. The reason?: To prevent ppl from downloading prohibited materials. and.. beacuse management observed people had been surfing during lunchtime. ....... Wad absurdity, but anyhow..

Kinabalu postpone
Kinabalu trip had to be postpone because all had been too late in planning, not sure if I can find time later on in the year to take a break.. The next period of time where it might be possible will be next january already.. After my current Baby is completed and delievered.

Scholarship award Ceremony postmotem
Group HR manager was well please with the effort we had spend organising the scholarship event last week. In fact she is so happy, she offer to treat us all to a dinner cum KTV session on her own expenses. Many of the bosses are impressed and happy! Yeah! I am glad it is a job well done.

Work this week
On hindsight, I guess my work in the yard is simplily too volumous to have time for anything extras. I am just damn lucky to have extremely dedicated colleagues who shoulders much of my work load. At work, I have to do the most dirty of the job, bearing responsibilities, in not so nice way, it means to carry the "black pot" Bei hei guo. To answer for the mistakes my guys make. HAhaa.. and mine of course. but of course, I get to take credit (seldom la) for the good job they do! But I always rememeber to tell them how happy bosses are with their work.

Wednesday Movie!!
Having not watch any movie since Da vinci code.. and not expecting any friends to watch any either.. So I tag along Angeline with her friends to watch the Pirates of Carribean On Wednesday evening. Too bad I was tied up in office and can only reached just as the show was about to start, pai seh had to make her waited outside the theatre for me. I enjoyed pirates of the Carribean lots!

Finally sick
Then come thursday, my body finally cannot take it, eyes goggy, nose blocked, and head spinning and exhausted from all the excitment from last week till now, my body finally gave in. I took 2 puriton, and the effect lasted till today. Argh.. so now the agony of having an unfinished report which have to be handed up lays before me. :(

okie.. better get going... another sleepless nite...

Mr Brown Saga

Mr Brown Saga says a lot about the state of freedom on our the little green island. Notorious for having one of the strictest social control in the world despite being a "Republic" country. It leaves little surprises to how government machinery can be brought to harass on individual dissidents who voice much grievances about the uncomfortable situations on our island.

Another case of David vs Goliath duel, no prize for guessing who is the winner. The Goliath had trampled yet another potential "trouble maker". To nip trouble in the bud before it grows out of proportion. To put down the first sparks before other deviants seeks to continue to push the boundaries of the OB markers.

Yet, the truth of matters lies in the heart of the people. In a land where "active citizenry" is preached but never practice, it only serves to further how much words are actually for paying lip services, with little considerations if they can be fulfilled or honored. Talks are cheap indeed. Hypocrisy has risen yet to another level.

To deny the lessons of histories, to ignore the high propensity of human beings to fall, to believe in creating a perpertuating system which is incorruptible by human nature. Such believes, only serves to tint the greatness and credit of the one who had claimed to have founded the land, who had stolen and marred the credits and honors of many greats characters in the history of our land.

One can only pray for miracles, a saving grace for this land.

Weekend at Fishfarms

New Challenges seems to keep popping up at work place. There is never a "dull" moment. Putting in a positive light, it is very challenging to having to deal with difficult, impatient and politically schemeing people. There is lots of room to learn how to be a better person myself.

Having said that, these situations and obstacles do indeed wears my thin. Mentally and physically. Last week along, I have been to the engine room for no less than 5 times, always looking at the same problems, everyone wants to boss ard and give ideas and opinions. Having gan cheong bosses really can be quite challenging.

So it was like that that I went late to meet my sec sch classmates on Sat. But it is fun indeed to meet people besides work. Life has alot more to it than just work. *remembers my department head who said: "You all should be thinking about work and making a career all the time, I see you all more than I see my wife " He has to said those words with a smut...

*shivers...

Obviously he is totally out of touch with what is going on in the world.

The chinese engineer Jian Cheng who was working together with me until March this year. Had left the company after he had returned to China. Now he is happily working in Nanjing, got the job from an introduction from a friend. He now makes lot more than he got when he came to Singapore. Thus obviously alot more than his China pay. And I heard he is going to get marry and is buying a house!

Not forgetting the many indian engineers and draftsmen in india design office that are quitting in doves because of abandance job opportunities

Obviously the management of my company is seriously out of touch with the employment markets in the world. In this world, when you pay peanuts, you get monkeys.

Anyhow, putting silly job aside, I am having a pretty ok life. Viktor's daughter is growing up fine. He seems to be enjoying his life aplenty. Simple yet happy family life. Such is bliss.

I also spent my last weekend driving ard some fish farms in Kranji. There were so many beautiful and pretty fishes! I didn't know fishing can be such an exciting hobby! :). Enjoyed myself lots that day. :D My other photos turn out crapz.. sigh..

Nemo is tanks~
